Palawan and Boracay holiday ... please help!?
I was originally just going to go to Boracay in the New Year (approximately December 30 to January
but hear This was so busy during that time. Now I think maybe I should do Palawan as well ... I am going with my partner and we love to dive, so it is thought diving in Palawan a few days and enjoy the peace and quiet and then do well in Boracay (or visa versa)? Do you know of any dive packages that include diving and the accom Palaway and where the best diving spots are? Would you recommend making Palawan at all times or do you think our idea of splitting up the two places be good / fun? If we went to Boracay, we wanted to stay on station 1. I did so much research that it has caused me to be more confused than before so any help would be much appreciated!
Both places are great. But you have to make sure what you really intend to do. If you love adventure upon it (banana boat, jetski, wakeboarding, swimming beach plain) then Boracay Island is the best for you. If you want to be on a crowded beach, many resorts are available at Boat Station 1. Check the map http://www.kabeet.com for Boracay Island. Mouse over the map to see the names of establishments. You can also see the legend by showing the list of establishments in the menu. If you want a more private experience in Boracay, you can try the exclusive resorts such as Club Panoly. For detailed maps of Boracay, check this link http://www.kabeet.com/flash/detail.php?name_id=1120269 If you consider diving as a priority, then I would recommend you go to Palawan. It's not as crowded as Boracay during that time but certainly, you have to book ahead for hotels and plane because it is the peak period. Your best option is EL NIDO Islands (Lagen and Miniloc Islands are run by same company). I forgot which one has a pool but You can avail of this course once you are in any of the two islands. They have both hotel and cottage type accommodations. Boat transfer from one island to another is not a problem. There is also an airport in the area and charter plane operated by the same resort. The area is similar to Phuket of Thailand (if not better) and very good for snorkeling, diving, fish feeding port of miniloc, site seeing, exclusive island adventure (you and your partner can stay on the island for some time and ask the boat operators to pick you up at a certain time). Other options for diving is Honda Bay (lots of resorts there too) and Tubattaha reefs.
