Why Filipinos are so mean (heres a story)? No offense?
ok i have gone to Manila last month aug.7-18 so I was disappointed to save all the money for my 1year just my mistake to go there .* * I thought it was a very good country because some of my researches and books purchased me. I personally think this is a horrible country ... Why? becoz "Nobody gives me directions as if I ask someone in Tagalog: Where to here? They just put up their arms? and say nothing I know! I asked many but all of them are frowning! NOT EVEN ME smiling. and I was lost in Boracay also are not good at all in reality, the garbages are scattered and populated. Commitment to God I wont go to you now! Same experience? NO offense in the Philippines I Simply want to solve this problem.
Sorry to hear your story EKI. I am a European who lived most of my life in America, and in the past 13 years in Asia. While in Taiwan, I met my future husband whom I married in the Philippines. If you become part of "family", you are considered as One of family.BUT go to local shops, the market, prices double because you are not a Filipino and therefore RICH. After people get to know you, they realize what the truth is. Now about directions.You have a special problem in Manila, because the Congress has to pass many laws .... They do this by changing the names of the streets, and that may be why people do not know how you get where you want to go. Another possibility they just hop on a jeepney and only recognize the place they want. Finally, it really kills me, but I have never met anyone who can read a map.
