How safe the Philippines for Russian Tourists? What areas to avoid? And where you suggest I go?
I'm going in the Philippines for 20 days. I imagined the Philippines as a paradise where one can walk anywhere without worries. But recently I heard different Other stories about foreigners killed or kidnapped. I need some suggestions which I and my friends can go without having to worry much. Aware We usually Boracay and Bohol. Seem to be safe, based on reviews. But what about other parts of the Philippines?
Abu Sayyaf kidnappings (of aid workers and evangelists) is only in areas where they operate, in some Villages down in south-eastern Muslim Mindanao provinces where there is not even that much touristy things do you want to do the best steering clear of those areas. That being said, there is virtually no risk in all other parts of the country. If you want to go trekking, try Batanes, Vigan, Baguio and Sagada up north. for surfing, with Siargao, La Union and all the surf spots facing the Pacific Ocean from north to south. for diving and beaches, it is mainly the islands (note caveat above) please! and for food treats, make sure you try FF: 1. lechon 2. sisig 3. kinilaw / kilawin (seafood and fish ceviche) 4. sinuglaw (roast pork and fish ceviche Combo) 5. purple ice cream 6. TURON banana / banana cue 7. local fruits in applauding the time,
