Travel – Custom Guided Tours Of The Philippines
Living overseas and saving "Big" while making what I want!
style = "color: # 3366ff;"> If it sounds good to you and want to cut costs to live better then read on.
My name is Al, I am American and I live out here in the Philippines for some 30 years. I actually lived in quite a number of countries, but as I am older now I have learned to appreciate in the Philippines for many others. Lo I want to share with you some of the Big Time advantages and smart choices are actually living there and even retiring here in the Philippines.
style = "color: # 3366ff;"> First, as the Housing'crash-Market 'is effected a lot of us, in one way or another (I am a Contractor so I know this part very well!) And I also know many of us are still struggling with coming up with Big monthly mortgage every month and despite the housing 'glut', as well as rentals were still still too high! For myself a Contractor my normal working time, or should I say, used from April to November I then travel abroad in an 'extended-vacation' following day and now here in the Philippines. I'd also point out that I lived and worked in and around Central America, Mexico & Belize so I am also familiar with what is available in the country. I have personally found that every country has advantages and disadvantages which anyone should consider when the visit and especially when considering buying any property etc. But, what I have found most important for any long term stay anywhere-How do well and get along with the local people where you have to deal with every day? Yes, it really is the local people who really make or break any holiday and especially if you intend to live abroad.
Today is no exaggeration to say that the world is over getting to be a rougher place than just thirty years ago! Yes, 30 years ago anyone can travel from India to Europe, overland no problem; the value of a Dollar is significant and most people who had guns were the Police, other words, today we Dollars lost much of their purchasing power and across the continent are significantly more dangerous eg most important of Latin America.
Now I live here in the Philippines that could, almost a 52. or 53. 'State'-for local government was set up by the American's back to the 1940's and even the American military bases are no longer 'The American Dream' is still idolized. Here are the things slowly and away from some major cities like Cebu City or the Capitol Manila, it may even be you, say the 1960's! (Which is more than OK with me at this stage in my life, because it has time to relax, to think and little "stress"!) But what makes the Philippines, this little oasis here in Asia so important to this country an important part of the same amount as in the U.S., religion, politics and business. Also, for the most part Filipino's are bi-lingual and a half of TV, radio and all businesses were reported in English. Personally my own ability to speak the local language of 'Tagalog' is almost nonexistent, but I do not have to, for many Local want to speak English (Unlike in Latin America!) And as an American it never ceases to amaze me how open and friendly Filipino's was and still respect fee 'I' (Hey, I am just a guy!) However, a Filipino immigrant's, should be treated with more respect and help (neither of which I can remember in the U.S.!)
style = "color: # 3366ff;"> Shopping over here in the Philippines is mainly done in huge air conditioned Super malls. Compared to us even shopping malls, over things here are taking on a whole other level not only in size, and convenience, but the general ambiance is' family oriented 'and not have lost, aimless teenagers' hanging out'! And then there is the price outside of Name Brand items and electronics import from the U.S., essentially everything else is a bargain compared to U.S. and definitely much cheaper than in Japan or Europe.
style = "color: # 3366ff;"> Over the last two decades in the Philippines infrastructure, at least as far as the private sector is concerned has started catering to their rising Middle Class' by building a large and modern suburban home developments and luxury condominiums. As a foreigner I do not own land here in the Philippines, but I can buy myself and or in an apartment. And it is here that anyone from any modern industrialized nations will find great deals on housing, brand new 1-4 bed rm. apts. & In's with a mortgage between $ 150.00 to 300.00 A you. and if your interested in just renting a comfortable house or clever. You for about the same!
style = "color: # 3366ff;"> OK, so now you have your housing needs covered so what's next-food. Depending on what you eat and where you shop will likely be one of your higher costs. As you can imagine, life here in the Philippines beef is imported items, while the fish cheap and workers are more common than Apple. For myself personally do not care much for white rice (the local staple) but grew up in Red Rice The mountains are another story, for it is more 'chewy', tastes great and excellent for keeping in regular anyone! Over here you will find modern big city grocery stores also carry an import-section of the many brand names from the U.S. and Europe, milk, butter and beef
be imports from Australia.
Ex-patriots and an international flavor of the house where you can always find a friend to relate to. I personally domestic and international connections from all around the world right here, such as myself who have discovered the savings, benefits and uniqueness of life here in the Philippines. Statistics of Americans are always the largest number of tourists in the Philippines, but I seem to find that most foreign business' is owned by Western European guys who married a local Filipina. Yes, once I got married to a local you immediate access to many more legal privileges permanent status and the right to own property etc. Visa's here for the long term you Veterans myself easy honest way and it is only a question of how long you want to stay, no maximum time limit!
style = "color: # 3366ff;"> OK, so now you settled in the Philippines so what is there to see and do? In case you may not know, the Philippines is an island system of 7107 islands each having its own ambiance and specialty eco-tourism in the westernmost island of Palawan has become one of the main destinations world of small remote islands, snorkeling and breathtaking beauty. The island of Busuanga is famous for scuba diving in WW11 sunken Japanese shipwrecks in the Philippines, and even have their own counterpart in Waikiki well known island of Boracay. In fact, all around the island you will find what the Philippines / PI is best known for Summer-Time fun down to earth with all first class amenities. But you need to know as well, "out" of large urban areas in the Philippines is largely a Second World country. Now, here is where those of you not traveled to poorer countries may be at first a little startled, but as you get to what I call, 'the state of self' can the real advantage in a world like the Philippines. For that because it is a second world country means for foreigners doing is cheap and so is therefore most everything else a comfortable three-star hotel for $ 22.00 or five star for $ 85.00 & up (You can also spend an evening a Five star resort with its own private island for $ 300.00 A night you should have!)
This means that all immigrants can live, travel and most everything for much Less! With my fiance 'and myself to keep our own lifestyle hire a comfortable one or two bedrooms in the food, drinks and various beach activities for one month costs about $ 850.00 – $ 1000.00 a month. This estimate depends largely on the likes of which, what and how you want to live. Once you get for the amount you get for your money, in an English speaking country that is cheap in the wallet, settled people, always summer time all this is a very good idea that 'I can'. And all of this will definitely ease your economic concerns and give you a stress-less lifestyle, almost like coming back to the 1960's before things became so complexity. In some ways, it's like being young again just now you have the wisdom to live your life better this time around.
About PI and travel halfway around the world. Hey, start taking it and start thinking like the airlines, Cathay Pacific or Air China as well as some of your own major airlines now have flights here for only a few hundred dollars more than the Caribbean. (In Low Season Rt fly here from NYC for $ 950.00 & its good for 6 months!) and once you get everything here is cheaper!
Being the world traveler is now getting more easily from the Philippines, Hong Kong, Thailand and Singapore are just two hours away; Japan about five hours; Australia about seven and Hawaii about ten time. Thereby the expats here and come back to the U.S. and Europe on regular basis. When you hire as it is easy to simply let my thing. go and come back when I can just as easily find another for funds is not a worry, which then frees me to do more of what I would hope and discovery-islands, meeting up with friends and spending time settled into my fiancé and quiet time reading.
Finally, I would ad This little to what I call-The search for meaning. Consider this, even as an average guy or gal coming from any country in the Philippines westernized that is well equipped to do a lot here in helping out less fortunate then yourself. For, although the average Filipino wears a smile and is always ready for a laugh, they are poor and ignorant. Here in Manila's public schools are so neglected that the poorer children only attend half-day 'shifts' and many just will not go at all. Obviously this has major ramifications when they get older and their children. Thereby, the chances to contribute either to the public, such as working with children in school, individually or helping in an orphanage or one to one basis is endless etc. Here are one man can make a difference and control what goes on, for no big anonymous organization that wastes your money! Indeed, even spending part of your time sharing and helping out the local Filipino's – children or adults are actually spent time wisely.
