A good economy class hotel / inn in Cebu?
I'm hitting Cebu for 2 days in August this year. Can you help me with my ff. questions: 1. Any suggestions where can I find a great hotel or inn of P500 or below per night that is clean, peaceful, clean and close to tourist spots in Cebu City? (A room with Aircon and hot showers are good enough, besides I would be out touring all day so I do not need other extra amenities) 2. What are the must-sees Cebu City where I can spend P1, 500 per day? 3. Is a P3, 000 pocket money enough for a trip for 2 days? 4. Some time I reach the falls from Cebu Kawasan City? And it's safe to go there with my French friends? I hope you can help me. Thanks in advance! ** I will choose the best answer which will give I have complete answers based on questions I asked. hi jennylove the cheapest hotel I found in Cebu is the hotel de Mercedes 815 pesos per night for a double room. they may have cheaper rooms if you book ahead and there are probably cheaper hotels. Aircon and they have a hot shower. I was just in Cebu for a short time and I did not look very hard. Magellan's Cross and the nearby fort San Pedro is worth a visit. You might also like to visit the statue of Lapu-Lapu on Mactan Island. Magellan's Cross is free to visit, fort San Pedro is cheap, probably around 100-120 pesos for 2 people, lapu-lapu and the statue is also free, but the taxi ride costs about 100 pesos. The view of the city from the hill's Neville is spectacular, or so I'm told, but not I make it that far (too much Tanguay, ha ha), although I find the city at night from a place not too far from there. that is free, although You will need to pay a little to catch a jeepney or two to get there. 3000 probably enough for two days, excluding accommodation, if you go to the disco and spend too much money there. kawasan falls sounds good. I have not yet but I think I'll make an effort to go there next time I visit The Cebu, hopefully next year. I think it would be safe to go there with your French friend, the French people I have met have always been kind and friendly, and not trouble makers, so I guess your friends are too. other nearby areas in Cebu that I have not seen but would have been the bird sanctuary which I think is also in Mactan Island, and Plantation Bay. hopefully that helps you
