Global Destiny Cable
History
In January 1995, the commission attached to the Philippines Department of Transportation and Communications, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) granted a certificate of public convenience and necessity / provisional authority to install, operate and maintain the telecommunications, broadcast and antenna cable television service in Destiny Cable Inc. and are allowed to provide cable television services in Metropolitan Manila and nearby municipalities, cities and provinces.
Destiny Cable Inc. embarked on marketing promotion by Solid Group Inc. by offering bundles of services: cable television and electronic products and ultimately facilitated build up a unique place in the cable industry. Solid Group Inc. was then known for manufacturing and marketing the leading brand in electronic products.
Global Cable
On February 3, 1993, Global Cable Inc. has provided a temporary authority to provide cable television services. The National Telecommunications Commission granted Global Cable Inc. a certificate of authority to develop, install, maintain and operate a Cable Antenna Television (CATV) System in San Pedro, Laguna on May 1993. Therefore, Global Cable Inc. are also allowed to run and maintain a CATV system in the municipality of San Juan and the cities of Mandaluyong, Makati, Pasay, Manila, Marikina, Paranaque and Muntinlupa.
Global merger with Cable
Destiny Cable In November 2003 formed a partnership with Global Cable to further strengthen and systematize its cable television venture. The two companies merged to form the Global Destiny Cable.
Global Destiny Cable is perceived to be the closest competitors SkyCable in Metropolitan Manila. Both have their own partners across the country and both offer high-speed cable Internet services to their subscribers.
