Cost of living in the Philippines?
Hi, Iam considering a job opportunity in the Philippines and would like some information from you the cost of living in Manila, Davao, Makati, Quezon, Camarines Sur, Clark, Tarlac. I know its too many cities and iam asking abt the reason is that currently iam not sure where I was located. It is of great help if you can give a brief overview of the cost of living raise of 2 people in town. Your help and inputs is much appreciated.
The P7, 500 ($ 150) the UK guy is quoting for rental must be from smaller cities. There is just no way he could pay especialli in Manila or Makati and live anywhere but a real rat hole. My 2 brother in laws live in Manila. One is living in a tiny 1 br apartment and paying $ 200 a month and she is 45 min from downtown. Some live in a condo near Makati and paying $ 400 for a 2 br place in a clean place. Both spend nearly $ 120 a month in electric, gas and water only. They both cost almost $ 150 a month for food for 2. Could not pay me to live in Davao or any part of Mindanao. Google "Amputan clan" and you'll get an idea why. Dole has to do with your life. If you want to live as a Westerner have to spend at least $ 1000 a month to live decently. Mingle with the masses and your cost is less than half, but I do not know any foreigner wants natives live as most here do.
