Riding the barge To Reach Samal Island (IGACOS)
Beach is your next target.
So you are deciding to have a short Samal Island vacation time, whenever you are planning to go to Samal and decided to take a barge as your means of transportation, remember that it is more convenient to ride with it, it's a big, dumb boat used to carry heavy objects such as trucks, cars, bicycles, motorcycles or any equipment that needed to be transported from one island to another island. From Davao barge terminal on the island is it just to keep you steady for at least, less than 10 minutes.
If you are in Davao City, especially in the downtown area, why not take a Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) in reaching the terminal, it only cost you less while enjoying watching the beauty of the area. You're going to pay P15 foronly jeep for a ride and the barge itself cost only P10 each people, so you're on your way to the Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS) without too much expenditure.
But if you're bringing your entire family with you or is it a get together event forum, I would suggest to bring your own car so that it is very convenient on their side especially the elders like your grandparents, they do not need to get out of the car and walk toward the barge but just sit and let the driver scheme itself.
I promised you that it turned out to be an efficient, stress-free day for you and your love-ones.
Here is the list of the types of vehicles and their prices for the barge ride
Bicycle / motorcycle - P60 each, including passengers
Car type - P270 each, including passengers
Big Trucks - P300 up, it depends on their size
barge Capacity - 18 cars depending on their size
But if you are choosing to take a bus ride from the dock going Magsaysay the terminal, it just take you P20 per person.
or if you came from Davao International Airport, just tell the taxi driver that you are heading in kilometers 11, Sasa or XI, it will only take you less than P100.
Just a tip: it's a huge benefit if you bring your own meals or lunch to your trip and more water
fun trip!
Life's a beach !!!!!!
