One of my friends likes to cook up some Filipino dishes every now and then. Some of my favorites that she makes with lumpia, chicken adobo, and Noodle. Recently, she taught me how to cook beefsteak (pronounced "bee-stek") and I gotta say, this is an awesome test main dish! As many Filipino foods, the ingredients are very simple, but the finished product is quite a blow! The flavor is very strong, so it goes great with some white rice, as was the custom of the Filipino to eat just about every meal.
The ingredients for beefsteak include beef steak (any thin steak cut is fine), chopped onions, black pepper, and of course, soy sauce. Groups like the eyeball of the value of their recipes, so if you want to make it very real, Just set aside the measuring cup and spoon for this dish.
Cut the steak into small 3-inch strips and throw them in a small pot. Now pour some soy, just enough to cover the bottom of the pot (maybe a tad more, just do not make it deep). Then pour water deep enough to accommodate all the meat is completely covered. Then you have meat, soy sauce, and water in pot, bring to a boil and let it sit for 3 minutes, then turn down the heat and let it just simmer for approximately 20 minutes to half an hour. After it has simmered long enough, go ahead and slice up your onion and toss them, along with your desired amount of black pepper, and then just keep it simmering until the total amount of soy sauce is reduced by about half.
Voila, Now you're cooked beefsteak. I also hope you cooked a pot of white rice to go with it, because this dish meal without rice is simply wrong! Well I imagine it is your calls because you cook, but it will go to great rice. Bon apetit!
