Does anyone have a good and easy recipe for Filipino noodles pan-Band?
Someone brought it to a party I went to the recent and it is so delicious! This is the first dish to go, and all loved it. I want love to be able to make it if I get a good recipe. It is thin rice noodles, and yellowish transparent type also noodles, and chicken and carrots in it. Can you help please?
It is not hard as you can imagine but a little too tedious for chopping and cutting and slicing and dicing. You get the point. Ingredients: Vermicilli noodles (preferably bean thread noodles from the Asian store) with garlic, crushed or flattened onion, medium size, sliced meat – shredded chicken, sliced beef or pork, etc. (this can be removed if you are a vegetarian) shrimp, boiled and peeled – are also removed chopped vegetables – cabbage, carrots, green onions, mushrooms, water chestnuts, celery – any kind of vegetables very white salt soy sauce anatto pepper or paprika or saffron (for coloring, optional) 2 boiled eggs (you need the yolks, crumbled) oil wok if you have or maybe chicken stock – 4 cup of bouillon (SP) or if you are starting from scratch, boil the chicken with onion and a celery stalk and some peppercorns – shred the chicken – and save stock – optional but adds flavor too if included price – no fixed value – it depends on how much the goodies you want in your noodles, or how much noodles you want your goodies. Usually what I do, before I start, I soak the noodles in boiling vermicilli chicken stock. You can also soak the noodles in clear water. (Remember, the noodles can be looooong, so it is wise to cut them with scissors while they are soaking.) While the noodles are soaking, heat sliced onions and pressed garlic in hot oil – be sure to crank the heat to high – until the onion becomes transparent and garlic turns brown. You move them in oil. Add meat and shrimp, stir until meat turns brown. Add the soy sauce, salt and pepper to add more flavor. (Note that it is high heat and need to move all the time.) Add your vegetables … quick quick quick. Stir stir stir! At this point, the juices of the meat and vegetables are oozing out, you have a kettle of aromatic halo especially if you have celery in the mix. Add your yellow coloring if you have (annatto, saffron or paprika, just a pinch or yellow make out). When you have your mixture thoroughly mixed, add the noodles and stir again. You have to be quick otherwise your vegetables will get soggy. That's it. trimmed more shrimp, shredded green onions and parsley, and crumbled egg yolk. A squeeze of lemon or a sprinkling of lemon juice mixed with soy sauce that you also add a zest before participation.
