Living in LA for a month?

I live in the Philippines and I decided to join a month long, finance related courses in Los Angeles (Continental Grand Plaza, Continental Blvd, El Segundo, CA 90245) I was wondering if anyone can help me out about these things: 1) What are the best / Cheapest / nearest place (apartment? Motel? Hotel? A dormitory?) Can I stay? how much cost? it would only for a month (unless I get a job that offered a) so it's just temporary 2) Is commuting a great option to get around? or I really need to rent a car? 3) What would be a good / cheap way for me to spend my weekdays? (class is only Saturday and Sunday) I wish I could have a part time work to help pay for the cost, but unfortunately I just have a school visa thingy, so i cannot: (I guess what I'm trying to ask is the amount of money that I needed to be - survive in LA for about a month. thanks!

Try websites such as Travelocity.com, Priceline.com, and Expedia.com to find the hotel which can offer extended stay rate. Depending on how you want to live lavishly, you should take at least $ 10,000 us to cover all your costs. The Pros is the largest, of course. And hire a car is your best bet, because the public transportation in Los Angeles has plenty of room for improvement, at least according to the answers I read in this forum.
