Is a study in the Philippines too hard?

Well, I used to study spanish when I moved from the state in Costa Rica and because I speak from English at home with my parents and learning spanish in school, I am doing great! Math is still a little bad, but I would still get 80's. I was a tribute to students 3 years, but then I moved to the Philippines and everything is so difficult. People are so disciplined and mathematics is too difficult. This is my second year in the Philippines. Im not making as big an honor student back in Costa Rica, but Math and Science are really stubborn, and I just 7th grade. It is normal in the Philippines? Is the study is difficult compared to spanish countries, or even the state? Sometimes I feel so left out, or stupid. Thanx!

If you go to school with Philippine curricula, then students would only be attending school for 10 years instead of 12. Move stuff at a faster pace because they only have 10 years to study what others have 12 years to learn. If you do not understand the things you need to come your teacher to explain things further. Students in the Philippines take school very seriously because they believe that the study will get them a good University, led them to a good job, and get them hardships. Competition in the "good" universites are very competitive (about 15% acceptance rate). Many families also not afford the tuition for them so many strive for higher grades to get scholarships. Philippine education is not difficult, just very competitive.
