Why is it important to know where the place is located?
Geography is NOT my strong suit. My daugher has this assignment and we was stumped. Help! He has a list of places to find a map and state why it is important for us to know where they are located. For example: Iran = oil supplier, warm place; = Japan trade, uppermost; Europe continent = What more about the Philippines? Our allies?
Think of the world as local community where you live. Do you think it is important to know which kids are best mates with your child, which the bullies, and which or just have to make the numbers or part of a gang? The world is just a community of sometimes belligerent neighbors. Some of your neighbors can live more far but still have an impact on your local neighbor hood. Mr America for example is a school monitor and a big player when it comes to stopping fights in the yard school. Mr Iran on the other hand is like a genuine enough chap, but if you look closer, he is one behind the crowd urging other players, especially his next door neighbor Iraq. Little Miss Japan is the richest kids on the block with 1/3rd of the economic playground in his pocket. When he gets grounded, you know that going to hurt you personally in style pocket. Miss Japan is not to take fights, he only pays off others to do the dirty work for him. The European Union is a group of greeny kind of family that not all necessary to get along, but they live in a big house and share the same parents. Together they vote anyone in the playground, and between them they provide a lot of economic clout. They just do not realize it yet. The Philippines is difficult Americas cousin from the wrong side of train tracks. America is not always realize that the Philippines is partly a Muslim country, and sometimes his feet would kick America's buttocks while the rest of his just wants to be friends. If the Americans do not watch out, them rebels in Zamboanga can do more to stomp on your feet. After the course there is in Canada. America thinks he is actually his long lost sister. But he knew Canada was the more powerful silent partner from friends and often smooths over America's rough edges so he plays well with others - such as Australia for example. Oz is the wisecracking best in your face married to America - if only in America are looking up now and then. What America does not realize that Australia is also best mates with America deepest enemy - China. One day China and America will have a big argument over the rules in the playground. It is interesting to see who is who is best friends day. This is why Americans in particular need to know the geography. Know your enemy and who is your best friend. Know that right the resources to help you, and know when not bite the hand of your best friends to serve your own interest because it might need it later. Be be the fattest kids on the block, but when you close the entire playground against you - you can find yourself getting more than a few bruises. The real world is not much different now it really?
