What is your take on American men marrying women from the Philippines?
Many call it "mail order brides" but, in fact, many have corresponded for months even a year or two before the marriage. However, they only spent a few weeks together in the most common. Is this the spell doom for the marriage or is it likely that the marriage will last as one where two people dated extensively in the same place?
I am married to a Filipina for twelve years. We corresponded for two years, and I finally visited him and got married after four days in the Philippines. The first two year is like heaven, but then she got pregnant and also achieved citizenship. He was demanding and rugged, but I stayed out of his concern for our children. Communication is a problem, even though he speaks English very well. It is ironic that the reason I sought a man from another country that I thought American women is demanding and rugged!
