Assuming received my immigrant visa for canada is approved, when I should leave the Philippines, immediately? ?
Sources said with a strong possibility that I was granted an immigrant visa to canada sometime next year. My problem is I still have many things to attend where I sure could not be completed within 2 years (like waiting for my child to college graduates, etc.). a friend told me once visa is ok, I must travel to canada for 10 months otherwise my visa was canceled forever, is it true? What to give the event? pls help!
When they send you a visa, it will tell you that time to use it. It is often 1 year from the time you had your consultation. You can go in Canada, "land" as an immigrant, stay long enough to get your PR card (4-6 weeks) and then return to the Philippines. If you have friends or family in Canada that the address you can use to get your PR card, you do not even have to stay long, they can mail it for you. As a PR Canada, you only have to live there for 2 years in any period of 5 years after activate your visa, you can return to the Philippines for up to 3 years without losing it.
