philippines culture shock

American men married to filipina?
I have an acquaintance that has filipina bride in the U.S. in a few days. He claims he love him, but he makes comments that make me uneasy like, he hopes that he became Americanized when he gets here. Or he would say things such as his house is spotless when he gets here and he is to make it because his culture does not allow him to tell him nothing. Not know him well, just by working, but the comments are strange to me. Is anyone out there who know someone who married a foreigner for comfort as opposed to love? His wife is a shock to many people with his family. No known he was even getting married until he was sent to the invitation a few weeks before the wedding in the Philippines. Not sure what to say to him when he makes these ridiculous comments.
Within 6 months he is the boss ... watch.
