Do you think the A (H1N1) swine flu virus has reached the Philippines?
Our country is soooo outdated technology. and did u know, if it is, the metropolitan area of Manila was shut down !!!!!! (according to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, 2nd front page, May 3, 2009 edition
Yes. Whatever precautions can you do – whether it's self-report questionnaires or thermal scanners, it is inevitable that the Philippines does not have the A (H1N1) virus. Even in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, China, Japan, South Korea, and Hong Kong all now have any of the cases suspected or confirmed case. It just a matter of time before the swine flu strikes in the Philippines – remember, we had 300 pilgrims from Mexico for this week – not to mention the Congressmen and members of Team Pacquiao in Las Vegas and Los Angeles – both not hit by A (H1N1) virus. However, mortality rate of swine flu is even smaller compared to previous influenza (flu) so I want to say that there need to panic. Of course, in prayer and safety precautions, the virus can still preventd from entering the Philippines. If it is not, though, It would be extremely difficult to stop the spread.
