How do I live in the Philippines?
I am going to Manila in the summer for an engineering internship, but I like strange how I look at the inhabitants. I am an American but my ancestry is filipino-polish, but I look way more filipino than white. I have a full american accent and does not know any filipino language. My mom says they want Americans there and the fact that I am filipino makes better. I especially interested in how Filipinas responded to me. I went to the Philippines when I was 8 and when I was at Cabanatuan, about a dozen girls filipina school is staring at me. Will I get a similar reaction this time? I also heard the night life Manila's pretty awesome, is it true?
Get these things from your head and you will enjoy even more overwhelming. The more you think about how the girls come to you because you are American, or if reverse is true where you feel uncertain because you do not know how you are treated, the more you will act differently. Some people do not understand your background may think it is a put-on. Deal with people around the way you deal with others anywhere. Never at any point think of yourself as superior, you will find there are people bigger than you. Nor think of yourself as less - - Internet is here to learn more. Treat the people around you with respect, but do not be hard. Be cool and casual, and you will enjoy your stay here.
