For the industry in 2008, Philippine president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is looking for a 40% growth in the country of Business Process outsourcing (BPO) industry for 2008. President Gloria Macapagal said the Philippines during the current leases 300,000 people in BPO and contact center industry; he wants are increased by at least 40% to meet growing demand worldwide. Speaking of e-Services Global Sourcing Conference and Exhibition, said the Philippines is currently second only to India in terms of supplying the workforce in the BPO industry, but it is – is recognized as the premiere destination for global types of IT-enabled services ".

President also boasted about the rapid changes in the BPO industry in the country. Arroyo said that for the year 2008, we have targeted to grow our offshore and outsourcing.
