Is the media biased news for women?
When a boy or man is kidnapped and / or disappears, there is not much media. But This is a woman or girl, whoa! The media came charging you .. This story was published on the main page of Yahoo's today. Below is an example. This is advertised as "Gunmen kidnap retired Marine's daughter in the Philippines." And when you open the link in the title switch to "Ex-Marine, child woman snatched near Manila. "? Wtf? To grab people's attention, they first announce the ONLY daughter as kidnapped? What do you think the biased news media for women? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080721/ap_on_re_as/philippines_kidnapping
I think the media likes to portray women as are not able to victims. but it is not bias, it is just pushing the stereotype that exaggerates any hegemonic masculinity control.
