Does anyone find it strange that Canada has had more SARS cases than in the USA?
Here the data. USA is 10x our population and many international travelers, but Canada has 10x the number of cases and 17x the mortality rate compared to the state. probable cases of SARS by country, The November 1 2002-31 July 2003. Its not surprising if you are the data of persons with SARS. infection. See the number of people with SARS and identify where they came from, if territory where they come from plus what they boarded flight number. discounting China, take the details of Hong Kong and Taiwan flight arrives in Canada. This reflects the virus is "imported" in Canada. Nothing to do with population, but as carriers of the virus in a particular area.
