10 year old going out with a 16 year old?
Hi. What do you all think about a 10 year old (female) going out a 16 year old (boy). They have been together for almost 2 months now. They got caught together in a strike near the church. They kiss, hug and hold hands. live They Philippines. I'm his friend. What do you think of this?
I think it is ok for them to be friends, but it should not be more than that this point. when people are adults, a 6 year age difference is not a big deal (my bf is 20 years older than me!) but when people are more children, in different stages in life and have different goals and views of what a romantic relationship entails. he could be ready to develop a sexual relationship, but at 10 yo he is much, much, much too young for that kind of thing. I do not want to see her get pressured to give up her innocence b / c he wants to keep up with an older boyfriend. I do not know if the schools are set up both in the Philippines, but in the U.S., she was in elementary school and she was in high school. I personally think you should date someone in the same school when you were a kid and have a maximum difference in the age of 2 years. let them be friends for now and if they still feel strongly for each other when he was 16 or 18, they can pursue a relationship afterwards.
