Anyone have advice on a trip to Philippines Cheap? (Back Packers Style?)?
I am the kind of person who loves back pack. I'm 25, fit, and I live in Portland Oregon now. Go to school and live on a wage retail jobs. Every so often I take a week or 2 vacation and back pack around I am not. Includes taking a plane, pitching a tent or stay in hostels. Doing my best to make the money to last the longest. I study in Tagalog for 3 years and would really love to come and see the culture. Has anyone ever traveled without and in this way? Any suggestions? House remain? cheap room rentals for a few weeks? If I bring 3,000 Us dollars (not including tickets). With the single ambition to see the city and meetings people (instead of partying all the time) How long I could last for? Since I and speaking Tagalog is the best place for me to do this? Is cebu anything cheaper? Best place to meet women. (may not prostitutes)
Cebu and Manila are the same price wise. If you want to see real Philippines to attend the Visayas (middle). It's only a 50 min plane ride from Iloilo City which is the center of the Visayas. If you brought $ 3000 exclude Airfare you can last at least 3 months of life "backpacker style" hard Pension Home and native beach resorts. People here are much friendlier than the big city and your money will last much longer. There are many colleges here and over Negros Island in bacolod city. Did Tagalog helpful, but it most the people speak English pretty well and after all is one of the national language taught in schools / colleges here. Best place to meet women? All up. Shopping malls, nightlife spots in the night / Saturday and Sunday. One of the many beach resorts or Evan in the native place of the BBQ. I'm talking about real women here, certainly not call the woman. There is a big festival here in January called Dinneyguyan. Native dancers in native dress.
