philippines vacation spots
which is the best place to vacation in the Philippines?

If you want cool climate, visit the Banaue during the summer months (April-May). Nice weather, no storms or landslides. Banaue Rice Terraces is noteworthy. If you want to walk, take the trails. Go caving too. For a piece of local culture, visit the traditional villages. See if your hotel can arrange them for you. Subic has started to pick up the pace and improve itself. Took my family there for the Dolphin show at Ocean Adventure Park and toured the Zoobic Safari where they are tigers and reptiles and they told us it adds new things in their attractions. Stay Camayan Beach Resort dock right next to Ocean Adventure and aask about discounts. They usually have one or two. Subic go around for sightseeing, shopping and discos / bar-hopping at night. Lots of fun things to do, just ask their tourism information office. They are very helpful and cooperative. I think Boracay (Aklan) is overrated. The white sand there are really nice and there are lots of friendly people. But it's too crowded there, at least for me. Too much building, too many people. But if you stay the more exclusive resorts where it can be peaceful (think spa pampering, great food), it may be worth it. Lots of bars and parties at night, if you want that kind of thing. Same goes for Puerto Galera (Mindoro). Good dive sites, though. Anilao, Batangas is another great pick for diving, but most of the beaches there are very tough. Except Maricaban Island which is nice cream color of sand and clear water too. It is still undeveloped but I kept my eye on it one. Wait, scratch that. Just go to Pearl Farm in Davao's. It is used to be a real pearl farm but now it is a world-class resort. Pricey but definitely worth it to vacation here. Snorkeling, seafood and fun. No beach bum? Go to Bohol or Palawan. Bohol: beautiful beaches and sunsets, dolphin and the whale, watching, tarsier-viewing, Chocolate Hills, Loboc River floating restaurant experience. Lots of things to do, never a dull moment. H.: clean water great for snorkelling, diving, kayaking, aside from swimming, of course. Underground river tours, conference-hopping sand, limestone cliffs, black marble cliffs, rainforest trekking, additional activities available include cliff climbing, waterfalls, kayaking, cave exploration, windsurfing, plus you can also hire a motorbike and discover the surrounding north of Palawan. Or you can just relax around if you like. See the website. I am around, and I can honestly say these are some of the best vacation spots in the Philippines. Oh, and for beach-bumming/swimming, the best time to go is June-December, which is off peak season. Just remember to check the weather to know if there are typhoons.
