visa information philippines
information travel to philippines?

if i intend to travel to philippines next year and i obtain a visa that allows me 59 days there and i decide to apply for a further 2 month extention once there how should i book my return flight, do i book it for the end of the 59 days, and change it if i get an extension, or do i perhaps book it for a later date and hope that the extension is granted

The 1 year multiple entry visa allows you to come and go as many times as you like within a year but each time you enter the Philippines, you can still only stay for a maximum of 59 days. If you want to stay longer than 59 days, you have to arrange an extension.

So, the 1 year multiple entry visa will only help if you intend leaving the Philippines during your 4 month stay.

As Marty suggested, you could arrange a 6 month ticket.

From Australia, I arrange 1 year tickets with PAL. They then let me change my departure date, if needed, at no extra cost.

However, if you already know what date you will depart the Philippines, just book a ticket with that date.

I use an agent to arrange my extensions. There is not even any paperwork to fill out. just hand over the money and the passport.

So, if you are allowed into the Philippines, you can expect your visa to be extended.

The only way you would not expect a visa to be extended is if you have been undertaking illegal activities in the Philippines. In fact, the reverse happens after 6 months. After you have been in the Philippines 6 months, you need permission to leave the Philippines in the form of an Emigration Clearance Certificate. No certificate and immigration will not even let you on the plane.

I hope this helps!
