How to play a region 1 dvd in the Philippines? (which is region 3)?
Im from the Philippines. I like to watch the film, but it be released in Asia. I am willing to buy the DVD online () but I fear it does not work on my dvdplayer for setting the region. what should I do? im thinking of buying a dvd drive in the state for my laptop so that it would be read region 1 dvd I should purchase. but it is a local laptop can read dvd drive from the state? pls .. I need an answer .. I really want to buy many dvds on ebay for these films are not shown in our country (for reasons that society dictates) .. I just want to know how I can play dvds region1 in the Philippines .. thanks!
just buy off ebay dvd player that plays region 1 dvds. or contact your computer manufacturer and ask if the dvd player on your computer will play region 1 dvds or if they have a dvd upgrade player can swap out so you can play them. Oh and just make sure the dvds are not illegal in your country, for obvious reasons. The region specifics are in place for a reason ... It also helps combat the pirating dvds (eg, pirated dvds bought in china will not play on dvd player bought in the states and vice versa). Also If you are buying dvds on ebay and you are worried about whether or not they are working on your player, consider contacting the seller to determine what region dvds are before you buy them.
